Last year, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that they were working on a series about the famous wizard, Harry Potter. This news sparked a lot of discussion on social media, as many fans were not excited about seeing the same story on the small screen. The series will be based directly on the books by JK Rowling, rather than being spin-offs within the universe like the Fantastic Beasts saga.
Max (formerly called HBO Max) has officially confirmed that the series will have seven seasons, one for each book, and will be 100% faithful to the original works. This means that the production will last for at least 10 years and will be Warner’s largest investment in its history.
As of now, not much is known about the series. No actors for the main roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione have been announced, and there is no information about directors or a release date (although it is rumored to be in 2025). Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry in the movies, has stated that he has no intention of returning to the saga.
“I understand they’re trying to start over and I’m sure whoever does it will want to leave their own mark on it and probably won’t want to have to include a cameo from me. So I’m definitely not looking to appear in any way,” Radcliffe told ComicBook.
Despite the lack of details, fans are eagerly awaiting more information about the upcoming series. It will be interesting to see how the story is adapted for television and who will be chosen to play the iconic roles. The series has the potential to introduce a whole new generation to the magical world of Harry Potter, and fans are hopeful that it will live up to their expectations.
