US Congress: Still no president due to fighting between Republicans and Democrats

According to reports, McCarthy has privately agreed to changes that would weaken the presidency– such as allowing a single lawmaker to force an early vote to oust the president. These new concessions have not been well received by everyone, with some accusing Democrats of fomenting divisions. The negotiations continue, but it is unclear when the impasse may end and Congress finally begin its work.
