Uncharted Easter Egg Discovered in ‘The Last of Us
The Last of Us x Uncharted: New Easter Egg
The second episode of HBO Max’s adaptation of Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic story of Joel and Ellie, “The Last of Us”, directed by Neil Druckmann himself, left viewers surprised and delighted with an Easter egg based on Uncharted.
In the episode, Tess offers to make a huge explosion, sacrificing herself, to buy Joel and Ellie time to escape. At that moment, she takes a Zippo lighter from her pocket; but not just any one. Said lighter has a very particular decoration, specifically, three stars and the number 76. This is the same lighter that Sam Drake, Nathan Drake’s brother, uses several times in Uncharted : The Thief’s End, the fourth part of the Uncharted saga that appeared in 2016 for PS4.
The details was an idea of Druckmann himself, who requested the props department for the very particular design for Tess. realizing the connection, they created an extra one for Sam Drake.
This is not the first time Naughty Dog unites the universes of two of its two most popular franchises, but the “Infected” episode of The Last of Us certainly provided an extra special Easter egg.
