A shooting that led to a fire left two officers injured and at least six people missing in East Landsdowne in Delaware County, Pa., Wednesday afternoon. According to authorities, it occurred shortly after 4 p.m. the afternoon in the 58 block of Lewis Avenue, near Baltimore Street.

The incident began with a 911 call reporting a minor wounded by a gunshot, although this has not been confirmed. Jack Stollsteimer, district attorney, stated that the officers arrived at the house and were suddenly shot at. The officers, who are veterans with 22 years of experience, are reported to be in stable condition.

The fire was triggered at some point, and rescuers worked to enter the three-level house to determine if the gunman was still inside and if there was really a wounded girl, which was initially reported. Authorities believe that the flames were caused by someone inside the house. The fight against the fire was delayed because the armed attacker was active.

Between six and eight people lived in the house that was reduced to rubble. Authorities fear that there may be several people who have died inside the house. The authorities were thoroughly reviewing the rubble in which the house was left. Other members of the rescue forces also attended to surrounding houses to prevent the spread of the flames. The entire block had to be evacuated to reduce the risks.

The shooting stopped around 6 p.m. and the fire was practically under control. The authority thinks that the house in question was inhabited by between six and eight people. Stollsteimer specified that the rubble inspection would be carried out until this Thursday.

The first investigations indicate that it all began as an attempted robbery. Criminals entered the warehouse of the Dominican family Nuevo Amanecer, located in the 2900 block of North Hancock. The business owner, 61, and a customer were injured in the head and are in the hospital in critical condition. A 34-year-old adult died.

The community remains shocked this Thursday. The police ask anyone who has information to clarify this fact to share it with the authorities immediately.
