Raúl Santamaría, a contestant on the television program Reacción en Cadena, has gained popularity among the show’s followers and the people of Galicia. He is part of the trio ‘Mozos de Arousa’, along with two other young Galicians, Bruno Vila and Borjamina. Vila, a 22-year-old law student, met his colleagues in the Asociación Xuvenil Arousa Moza, which was created to support culture in their city. Borjamina, a 30-year-old DJ, studied Business Administration and Management and now focuses on DJing in clubs. Raúl Santamaría, 25 years old, studied Teaching and is now preparing for competitive exams. He has also appeared on other television contests such as Trapped by the Wall and High Tension.

Santamaría’s future may involve a career in politics, as he is number 7 on the list for the Xunta de Galicia and could become a PP deputy in Pontevedra. He has expressed his intention to resign from the television program if he becomes a regional deputy, but he hopes to make both activities compatible.

In addition to his television appearances, Santamaría is already a councilor in Vilagarcía de Arousa and has participated in rallies for the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and in campaigns for Alfonso Rueda. He is also part of the national executive committee of Nuevas Generaciones and the PP board of directors of Galicia.

If Santamaría becomes a PP deputy in the Galician Parliament, he could be one of the youngest and most media parliamentarians, but his future as a television contestant would be uncertain. His decision will be known from February 18.
