Former Tottenham striker Mido in hysterics after puffing on cigarette mid-workout on yacht

Former Tottenham striker Mido has left fans in disbelief after a video he shared on Instagram shows him doing sit-ups while puffing on a cigarette on a yacht. The former Spurs player, who retired from football in 2013 after being released by Barnsley, seems to have let himself go a bit since his playing days.

Mido, who also won the Africa Cup of Nations with his country Egypt in 2006, shows himself working out on a private boat. However, as the camera panned around, it revealed he had a cigarette in his mouth, which sparked reactions from his followers on social media.

One user said: “Cigarettes and sports don’t mix 😂😂😂.”

Another added: “Back for preseason big man?😂😂🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️.”

And a third simply replied: “King 🔥🔥🔥🔥.”

Mido’s Football Career

Mido contributed 19 goals and five assists in 61 games for Tottenham between 2005 and 2007. He was part of Martin Jol’s notorious “Lasgnagate” squad that fell ill and lost 2-1 to West Ham on the final day of the 2005/06 season, which saw them miss out on Champions League qualification to rivals Arsenal.

He had previously played for Ajax, Marseille and Roma before joining Tottenham. Mido then continued in football for six more years before retiring at the age of 30. During the latter stages of his career, he played for the likes of Middlesbrough, Wigan and West Ham, scoring just 16 club goals across a five-year spell before his final appearance for Barnsley.

The Reactions

Fans couldn’t believe Mido’s choice of smoking while working out, sparking amused reactions on social media. The former player has since reacted to the various comments, which also included some people defending his choice to smoke while exercising.

While Mido has clearly put his football career behind him, he’s still making waves on social media. However, his latest video might not be the best inspiration for anyone hoping for a healthy workout routine.
