David Ayer, the filmmaker behind Suicide Squad, has revealed that he regrets one design element of Jared Leto’s portrayal of the Joker – the “Damaged” tattoo on his forehead. Ayer admitted on Twitter that the tattoo was an aesthetic choice he wishes he hadn’t made and that it generated a lot of negative criticism from viewers. Ayer has previously claimed that his version of Suicide Squad was better than the final product released by Warner Bros. and that we may eventually see his original version. Meanwhile, fans eagerly await the release of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker sequel, Joker: Folie à Deux, which is set to hit theaters on October 4, 2024.
