The incident took place around 9:00 a.m. on Olmos Drive on Thursday, February 1. The driver was traveling in a van with his partner’s daughter, a teenager named Stefani. According to Stefani, the man, whose identity was not revealed, suddenly became violent and pulled out a knife, threatening her while she was in the back seat of the vehicle. The man then crashed the van into another parked vehicle, which ended up in the front garden of a home. He then fled on foot, leaving the minor behind, who waited until her mother arrived to pick her up.

Stefani described the man’s behavior, saying, “I got out of the car and he started yelling at everyone not to call the police and he just yelled bad words and yelled at me to hurry up so I could leave with him, but I told him no. So I sat down and saw that he ran towards that house.” The teenager also mentioned that the man, who is currently out on bail, ran towards some houses, where clothes were later found. While waiting for her mother to arrive, Stefani mentioned that she experienced stomach pain, presumably caused by the impact.

In a separate incident, a person traveling in a trailer from the UPS courier company lost his life after being hit by another trailer at the intersection of IH 35 and Rittiman Street. The driver of an 18-wheel trailer belonging to UPS died after colliding with another trailer at Interstate 35 and Rittiman Street.
