Spanish retiree arrested after sending explosive letters to the Ukrainian embassy and Spanish government
Police have arrested a 74-year-old retiree on Wednesday (01.25.2023) in Miranda de Ebro (Northern Spain). He is now the alleged author of a series of explosive letters sent at the end of last year to the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid and to several members of the Spanish government, including President Pedro Sánchez.
The first investigations have revealed that the man acted alone and is not linked to any group. One of his letters, addressed to the Ukrainian ambassador in the Spanish capital, caused minor injuries to the hand of a guard at the diplomatic headquarters.
The police source did not provide more details concerning the explosive letters or the motives behind this alleged criminal act. The investigation is still underway.
