The Life of Lisa Marie Presley who Gained Fame beyond Being Elvis Presley’s Daughter

Lisa Marie Presley who was the daughter of Elvis Presley was internationally renowned not just for her connection to the music icon, but also as a singer in her own right. She was related to music star Michael Jackson, whom was one of four of her husbands.

On February 1, 1968, Elvis Presley and his wife, actress Priscilla Presley, welcomed their only daughter Lisa Marie and the heiress of rock and roll. Sadly, when she was only nine years old, Lisa suffered the death of her father. Later her life would be marked with another painful loss, the suicide of one of her children.

Lisa Marie was married four times. Her first marriage was to musician Danny Keough in 1988. It lasted just over five years before they divorced in 1994. Before long, she was wed 20 days after her divorce to Michael Jackson, with whom she had a two year marriage. In an interview with Oprah in 2010, Lisa Marie revealed that there was true affection between them and they remained friends after divorce. She was later engaged to musician John Oszajca but the wedding never happened.

In 2002, she married actor Nicolas Cage in an intimate ceremony Hawaii. Unfortunately, the marriage only lasted 108 days but their divorce dragged on until 2004. Lisa was most recently married to guitarist Michael Lockwood in 2006. They were wed for 10 years before she filed for divorce in 2016.

Being the daughter of Elvis Presley seemed to have influenced Lisa Marie’s musical pursuit. She released her debut album ‘To Whom It May Concern’ in 2003, followed by two other albums ‘Now What?’ and ‘Storm and Grace’. She also released singles including ‘In the Ghetto’ and ‘I Love You Because’ which featured Elvis Presley’s voice.

Lisa was devoted to Scientology for years and even received an award from the church. In the 2010s, however, she renounced the faith.

Lisa’s last public appearance before her untimely death was at the 2023 Golden Globes with her mother Priscilla, where Austin Butler thanked them for their support of the movie ‘Elvis’ in his acceptance speech for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama. Two days later, Lisa Marie Presley suffered a heart attack at her home in California and sadly passed away.

Lisa Marie Presley’s life was far more than being the daughter of Elvis Presley. She was a singer, mother, and wife. She will be remembered forever.
