Shōgun is a highly anticipated release for February, and possibly for the entire year. The new series, based on the 1975 novel by James Clavell, has been created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks and boasts a high-quality cast. It will be available in Spain through Disney+, and a new extended trailer has been released. This 2-minute and 23-second trailer completes the promotional campaign for the film, as it is the final Shōgun trailer before its release on February 27.

The trailer introduces us to some of the characters, such as John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), Lady Mariko (Anna Sawai), and the formidable Lord Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), while the political stability of Japan hangs in the balance. The territory is on the brink of civil war following the death of an important regent. Toranaga is forced to leave a political summit due to the risk of assassination, and he is faced with a momentous decision: honor or reason, war or peace. The battles depicted in the trailer suggest that Shōgun’s story will be marked by violence, as well as deception, desire, passion, and destiny. A destiny where all the characters are intertwined.

Shōgun will premiere on February 27 on Disney+. On that day, viewers will be able to enjoy the first two episodes, with subsequent episodes released weekly until there are a total of ten. IGN has already had the opportunity to view the series and has provided a review of the first eight episodes, awarding it a score of 8/10. The review describes Shōgun as the samurai series that audiences have been waiting for, with a captivating story and memorable characters. The dichotomy between reason and honor, peace and war is explored within the beautiful settings that depict an ancient Japan gradually modernizing.
