Second Season of ‘Merlina’ Successor Now on Netflix

Ginny & Georgia Season 2 Dethrones Merlina As Netflix’s Number One Show

Netflix’s Merlina premiered at the end of November and its four episodes directed by Tim Burton gave Jena Ortega the opportunity of being nominated at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The show was successful and managed to surpass the views of “Stranger Things” in its first two weeks. However, a new season from another streaming platform has just dethroned it from its spot as the number one show on Netflix.

Ginny & Georgia’s Season 2 debuted with 180.47 million hours of viewing between January 2nd and 8th, and for the first time, Merlina was no longer placed in first place. Kaleidoscope – another heist series- was in second place with 112.32 million hours while Merlina dropped to third with 81.34 million hours.

Ginny & Georgia centers around the story of a single mother Ginny raising her daughter, Georgia, and her son in a New England town. The series stars Brainne Howey, Antonia Gentry and Jennifer Robertson.

Season 3 of the glamorous drama Emily in Paris was fourth on the list with 47.78 million hours watched. The Recruit, Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street, Treason, The Witcher: Blood Origin and New Amsterdam rounded up the top 10.

Ginny & Georgia’s Season 2 just dethroned Merlina from its position as Netflix’s number one show and it’s expected to keep its spot for a while.
