Two friends went missing after entering the sea in Cariló by kayak early Sunday morning. The missing men are Ramón Román, 56, and Gabriel Raimann, 38. Román is from the Pinamar district and Raimann is from Misiones. They arrived at the Cariló area around 6 on Sunday, parked their black Toyota Hilux truck, and entered the sea in a red and yellow kayak. Since then, they have not been heard from.
Local authorities began to suspect the disappearance when a neighbor reported that the van had been parked on the sand about 200 meters from the nautical drop-off. The municipal agency investigated the ownership of the vehicle and confirmed with Román’s family that he had gone fishing with a friend at dawn on Sunday and had not been heard from since.
The Buenos Aires Police, the Naval Prefecture, and the Municipal Security Secretariat were informed and began to investigate the disappearance. The Scientific Police began expert reports on the truck, and family members went to the place where it had been parked. Lifeguards were also notified to join forces in the search and set up a WhatsApp chain to spread messages to be attentive to any situation they may see from the coast.
The day of the disappearance had weather complications, with warning notices for strong winds and gusts. The organizations had recommended avoiding entering the sea and practicing sports boating. As of Tuesday, an extensive search operation continued to be carried out with the participation of police from Buenos Aires and the communal headquarters of Pinamar, Villa Gesell, and La Costa. Personnel from various agencies and departments also joined in to collaborate in the search.
