Scream 6 Debuts New and Frightening Ghostface in Official Trailer
New ‘Scream 6’ Trailer Releases: Ghostface Returns With New Victims In a New American City
The Scream Franchise has released their trailer for the upcoming sixth installment of the series, “Scream 5”. The trailer shows that, with the phrase “This Ghostface is unlike any other,” Ghostface is back with even more terror for the characters of the series. Set for a March 10 theatrical release in 2021, it follows the success of Scream 5, which was released to worldwide praise and haul of more than $150 million in revenues.
The film follows the four survivors from Woodsboro, with Melissa Barrera (“Sam Carpenter”), Jasmin Savoy Brown (“Mindy Meeks-Martin”), Mason Gooding (“Chad Meeks-Martin”), and Jenna Ortega (“Tara Carpenter”) all returning to their roles, joined by Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) and Hayden Panettiere (“Kirby Reed”) in the new addition.
The synopsis of the film reads: “Our protagonists don’t know if it is the same one that attacked them in Woodsboro, it is clear that he knows who they are and that he has a plan to kill them all”. Although the protagonists leave Woodsboro in the film, “the past is not buried and all of them will have to face their traumas and demons again.”
The movie was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick and directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet, the pair responsible for Scream 5’s production. With the mixed reviews of past installments, Scream 6 looks to keep fans interested with a new setting and characters.
