Gilchrist, the Scottish second row, was given a three-week suspension, which means he will not play in the team’s upcoming games against Ireland on March 12 and Italy on March 18. Gilchrist received a red card at the start of Scotland’s match against France, which the Blues won 32-21. He was penalized for a shoulder blow to Anthony Jelonch’s face, which led to Jelonch being taken out of the game injured. Jelonch was subsequently diagnosed with a knee injury, with a rupture of the cruciate ligaments being the cause.
