Ronald Koeman is set to return as the national coach of the Netherlands in 2023, following the World Cup in Qatar. The Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) announced the news on Wednesday, April 6th.
Koeman had previously held the position from 2018 to 2020, before being sacked from FC Barcelona last October. Upon the announcement, Koeman expressed his enthusiasm for the new collaboration: “I look forward to this new collaboration. A little over a year and a half ago, I certainly did not leave the Dutch national team out of dissatisfaction.”
The new contract between Koeman and the KNVB will run until the 2026 World Cup, and has been signed by both parties.
This is an exciting development for the Netherlands, as they look to Koeman to lead the team to success in the upcoming World Cup.
