The Letter Continues
Roberta Laundrie’s letter carries on with the assurance of unbreakable love. In her words, “Therefore I am certain that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor the ruling spirits, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers from above, nor powers from below, nothing in the entire created world can separate our love.”
She cites Romans 8:38 to further emphasize the point, stating that not even hostile powers, messengers of heaven, or monarchs of the earth can come between the bond shared.
Roberta’s love transcends all possible obstacles. She writes, “nothing can separate us hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not threats, not backstabbing, not even sin, not the unthinkable, or thinkable can get between us) ~not time not miles and miles and miles.”
However, the letter’s origin and context remain disputed. The Petito family’s legal team claims that it was written after Gabby’s death, while the Laundries’ lawyer insists that it was written before their March trip.
Despite the difference in interpretation, the sentiment expressed in the letter remains a reminder of the strength and endurance of love.
