Release Date and Cast Announced for The Good Doctor Spin-off

ABC’s hit show The Good Doctor is headed for a major milestone with the upcoming season 6. With the mid-season break coming to an end, fans of the medical drama will be delighted as the popular series prepares to air its spin-off titled The Good Lawyer.

The Good Doctor follows the journey of Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a talented medical professional with autism. During the past five seasons, viewers have seen Murphy’s private life and how he relates to the team at Save Jose Bonaventure Hospital.

The success of The Good Doctor has resulted in the creation of a spin-off show, The Good Lawyer. Kennedy McMann has been cast as the lead of the legal drama. She will portray Joni DeGroot, a young lawyer suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The character is self-aware and her attention to detail can help her approach cases from different angles.

McMann will share the screen with seasoned veteran, Felicity Huffman, who plays Janet Stewart – a highly regarded lawyer and partner of the same firm. As the primary counsel, she will be the one assisting Murphy by providing legal representation.

The pilot episode of The Good Lawyer will be aired during the 13th episode of the Good Doctor on 6th March at 10/9c on ABC. In the meantime, fans can anticipate the return of The Good Doctor’s season 6 soon.
