**Russia prepares for the 2024 Presidential Elections**
The Russian newspaper Kommersant reported on Friday that the environment of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is beginning preparations for the next presidential elections scheduled to be held on March 17, 2024.
According to the newspaper, representatives of the presidential administration have started consultations on the elections with the community of experts, though they currently lack “ideological contours”. It is believed that the campaign will revolve around the “unity” of the nation.
The representatives of the Kremlin will analyze the experience from the regional elections of September 2023 to consider it in regards to the preparation of the 2024 presidential elections.
Putin, who has been in power since 2000, announced his participation in the March 2018 elections four months before, i.e. in December 2017. It is expected he will follow similar practice for the coming elections.
