Princess Eugenie of York expecting second child

Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the British royal family, announced on Tuesday that Princess Eugenie of York, 32, and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, 36, are expecting their second child this summer.

The family is said to be “delighted” and it appears that the couple’s first child, Augustus Felipe Hawke Brooksbank, born on February 9, 2021, is looking forward to becoming a big brother.

The baby, due to arrive this summer, will be thirteenth in the line of succession to the British crown and is the first to be born into the royal family since the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8.

Princess Eugenie, the second daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, married her husband in 2018 at Windsor Castle, just outside London.

A brief statement from Buckingham Palace reads: “Princess Eugenie and Lord Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce that they are expecting their second child this summer. The family is delighted and it appears that Augustus is looking forward to becoming a big brother.”
