Niantic’s newest game, Peridot, will launch on May 9th, combining elements of popular mobile games such as Pokemon GO, Tamagotchi and Nintendogs. Players can pre-register now on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and earn an exclusive cosmetic party hat if they play before May 23rd. The game has been in development for three and a half years and aims to recreate the magic of Pokemon GO’s initial launch period. Players will be able to adopt and care for Peridots, magical creatures that eat, sleep, play, develop unique personalities and need to be loved by their adopters. Players can also breed different types of Peridots, but the primary goal is to make sure their adopted Peridot is happy, healthy and loved. The company confirmed that the game would include microtransactions.
