Naughty Dog’s documentary Grounded 2: Making The Last of Us Part 2 is set to be released on February 2, 2024. The developer recently announced the release date through a post on Twitter. In addition to the documentary, new skins for Ellie and Abby will also be released in The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered.

The post on Twitter stated, “Grounded 2: Making The Last of Us Part 2 will arrive on February 2. You’ll be able to watch this documentary on YouTube and as part of an upcoming downloadable patch for The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered.” The update will also include additional new skins for Ellie and Abby.

A two-minute trailer for the documentary was released earlier this month, showcasing development footage of the game from 2020 dating back to 2016. Grounded 2 will provide fans with a behind-the-scenes look at Naughty Dog during the creation of the game. The trailer features key moments, such as a major leak that revealed story details before the game’s release, and includes appearances from director Neil Druckmann and other team members.

The original Grounded documentary was released in 2014, offering an 85-minute featurette about the making of the original The Last of Us. Grounded 2 is expected to provide a similar experience for fans. With the recent release of The Last of Us Part 2: Remastered, which includes new features such as a roguelike mode, lost levels, graphical improvements, DualSense integration, and a Guitar Free Play mode, Grounded 2 could be the last major release for The Last of Us fans for the time being.

The remastered version of the game includes lost levels with developer commentary, including levels titled Jackson Dance, Boar Hunt, and Sewers. The inclusion of the Sewers level has sparked concern among fans. As of now, no further games in The Last of Us series have been announced, making Grounded 2 a highly anticipated release for fans of the franchise.
