Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reunion special celebrates 30th anniversary
Netflix celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Mighty Morphin Power Ragners with the announced special, Once & Always that will feature some of the original actors.
Netflix has announced Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, a special that will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the saga with some of the original actors, who will play their characters again. David Yost will once again be the Blue Power Ranger, Walter E. Jones (Black Ranger), Catherine Sutherland (the second Pink Ranger), Steve Cardenas (Rocky, second Red Ranger), Karan Ashley (Aisha, Yellow Ranger) and Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam, Ranger Black), as well as Barbara Goodson, who voiced Rita Repulsa. Amy Jo Johnson (Kimberly), the first Pink Power Ranger, will not be making an appearance in the special. She has explained why in a tweet saying “For the record I never said no…I just didn’t say yes to what was offered. But other fun stuff is in-store! Looking forward to watching my friends kick ass!”
Many expected the reunion of Kimberly and Tommy, since the special was recorded before Jason David Frank —Green and White Power Ranger— committed suicide in 2022. Austin St. John, who played the Red Ranger from the first season, might make a return too, although he is currently having his own troubles with the justice after the arrest last year for deceiving the Government to receive financial aid for COVID-19.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always will be available exclusively on Netflix on April 19. This is a special episode in which the Power Rangers will have to use their powers again to face a threat from the past. “In the midst of a global crisis, they are called upon once again to be the heroes the world needs.” Don’t miss the reunion of this fan favourite.
