Oprah Winfrey looked stunning in a sparkly sequined Dolce & Gabbana dress at the Academy Museum Gala 2023. The former talk show host, 69, captioned an Instagram post, smiling joyfully as she posed in the gown. She serves as a producer for the forthcoming remake of 1985’s “The Color Purple,” in which she originally starred. Winfrey was honored with the Academy Museum’s Plllar Award in honor of her support for the organization.

The custom creation featured long sleeves, a high neck, and a train. She wore her hair in a half-up style to showcase her enormous diamond drop earrings from Hamilton Jewelers. The punchy purple color stood out amongst a sea of black, gold, and red looks on the red carpet.

Celebs like Kendall Jenner, Eva Longoria, Meryl Streep, Brooklyn Beckham, Nicola Peltz, and Fantasia Barrino attended the museum benefit. Winfrey has been sporting purple on repeat to promote the film’s release on Christmas day.

Although Winfrey doesn’t enable comments on Instagram, her magazine “Oprah Daily” shared a photo of its founder at the gala that attracted plenty of attention. One fan wrote, “It should cost a trillion to look that good,” while another commented, “Absolutely beautiful. Share the secret of losing so much weight.”

Another fan pondered, “How’d she loose [sic] all that weight and get toned? Exercise and diet or diet, exercise, medical intervention? I neeed to know.” One fan chimed in, “She does A LOT of hiking! That ish will burn AAAALLLL the fat off you and you know she got the chef on staff so there you go. She looks exquisite!”
