Production of Popular Anime ‘NieR Automata’ Halts Abruptly Due to COVID-19

Fans of the anime series “NieR Automata” were in for a shock yesterday, when the official account for the series unexpectedly announced that production has abruptly been halted amidst the current pandemic.

The statement, released via Twitter, stated that the decision to suspend their operations was made due to “the spread of the infection” by COVID-19. It highlighted that the fans would be informed in the near future through their social media accounts and the official website about when episode 4 and the other episodes following it will arrive.

Based on the popular video game of the same name, NieR Automata is one of the great games of the past generation which was developed by Platinum Games and Yoko Taro and was released in 2017, garnering wide acclaim from critics (88 on Metacritic). The game revolves around the story of androids who embark on a mission to reclaim the earth, with humans having abandoned it and taking refuge in a space station.

Fans of the series can watch the first three episodes on Crunchyroll. However, they will have to wait to find out when the rest of the episodes will release.
