Looking for something to watch this weekend? Well, look no further because Netflix has just added a new movie to its collection that is sure to give you a good scare. “Home for Rent” (or “House for Rent” in Spain) is a Thai film directed and written by Sopon Sukdapisit, and it has just been released on the popular streaming platform.
The movie follows the story of Ning and Kwin, a couple who move into a new apartment with Ning’s seven-year-old daughter, leaving their old house up for rent. Their new tenants, retired doctor Ratree and her 40-year-old daughter Nuch, seem harmless at first. However, things take a dark turn when Kwin starts exhibiting strange behavior, including getting a mysterious tattoo and visiting their old house late at night. As the strange occurrences begin to affect Ning’s daughter as well, she is forced to confront a dark cult that has trapped her family.
Sopon Sukdapisit not only directed “House for Rent” but also co-wrote the script with Tanida Hantaweewatana. The film features a talented cast including Nittha Jirayungyurn, Sukollawat Kanaros, Penpak Sirikul, Thanyaphat Mayuraleela, Namfon Pakdee, and Suphithak Chatsuriyawong.
The movie premiered last year to positive reviews and currently holds a solid 74% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, it is available for streaming on Netflix. If you’re a fan of horror movies, this is definitely one to add to your watchlist.
