New Mexico snapped Oral Roberts’ 10-game win streak with an 82-75 victory at the Dreamstyle Arena in Albuquerque on Monday night. Jamal Mashburn Jr. led the way for the Lobos as he netted a game-high 24 points on 11-for-23 shooting performance, including two 3-pointers, while also grabbing seven rebounds.
Josiah Allick and Morris Udeze chipped in with double-doubles. Allick had 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Udeze scored 12 points with 10 boards. Jaelen House played a critical role for the Lobos, sinking all eight of his free throws for 15 points to go along with five assists.
Leading scorer for the Golden Eagles was Max Abmas with 26 points on 10-for-22 shooting from the field and 3-for-13 from long range. Connor Vanover and Carlos Jrgens contributed 18 and nine points for Oral Roberts respectively, with Vanover adding eight rebounds and Jrgens nine.
Uncharacteristically slow start plagued the Golden Eagles and allowed Lobos to build a 43-35 lead at the break. However, Mashburn’s 13-point effort in the first half proved pivotal in propelling the Lobos to the big win.
