The Minister of Health, Mónica García, has criticized the “lies” that, in her opinion, the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has told in relation to Catalonia and his negotiations with the independence party Junts. She has reproached him for “setting fire” to the streets and institutions with arguments that he then “contradicts.”

García made these comments when asked by journalists after leaving the Forum Europe briefing breakfast, starring the president of Congress, Francina Armengol. Late on Saturday, several media outlets published that Feijóo would be open to a pardon for Puigdemont conditional on him being tried and rejecting the unilateral route, as well as that he studied the fit of an amnesty that he rejected in less than 24 hours as unconstitutional.

In García’s words, the only “certainty” of the PP is that they are capable of “lying” and carrying out “unscrupulous politics” to the end. She remarked that “Mr. Feijóo is not president of the Government because he does not want to and cannot lie anymore because he does not have more time.” She also reproached the ‘popular’ for not having assumed their “role” in democracy.

García has criticized the PP for not having put “any” political project on the table for Catalonia or the rest of Spain. She accused them of patrimonializing the government and considering what is theirs, and has disfigured the PP for having “never” put “any” political project on the table for Catalonia or the rest of Spain.
