Moldova to Detonate Missile Dropped on Border with Ukraine

Remnants of missile with 80 kg of explosives found near the Moldovan-Ukraine border

The Ministry of Interior of Moldova reported the discovery of a warhead with approximately 80 kilograms of explosives near Larga in the Moldovan-Ukraine border area. A controlled detonation of the remnants of the rocket is set to take place today.

The Interior Ministry has set up a workgroup comprising engineers from the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Defence to investigate the incident.

The police patrols in Pavlovca and Larga instructed the residents to keep a distance and not approach the security zone imposed for their protection. Access to the area for the detonation is blocked.

This is the third case of missiles from shelling of Ukraine falling on the territory of Moldovan Republic.
