Margot Robbie Changes Everything with Her ‘Totally Animal’ Performance in ‘Babylon’

Margot Robbie stars in ‘Babylon’ directed by Damien Chazelle

Margot Robbie is one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, and now she is co-starring with Brad Pitt in the highly anticipated film “Babylon” directed by Damien Chazelle. The film is an epic story set in Hollywood in the 1920s that follows the arrival of talkies in Hollywood. The role was originally written for Emma Stone, who became unavailable due to scheduling conflicts, and so Robbie took the opportunity.

Chazelle has stated that he wanted Robbie’s performance to be “totally animalistic”, and she has prepared for the role by studying animals. She looked to fluid and transformative animals like octopuses and fighters such as badgers for inspiration on how to portray the character of Nellie LaRoy.

At the Golden Globe Awards, the film received five nominations, including best musical or comedy and best original score.

“Babylon” is set to arrive in Spain on January 20.
