Dean Jones: Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter unlikely to become next Tottenham manager
Sports journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter are unlikely to become the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur. Jones made this claim on GiveMeSport, a day after Feyenoord’s Arne Slot also ruled himself out of the running by confirming he wants to extend his contract there.
Since Antonio Conte’s exit, the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique had been rumoured to be taking over the Spurs job vacated by the Italian coach. However, these rumours have since died down, indicating that the club may now need to go back to the drawing board.
Regarding Rodgers, it was recently reported that he had been offered the Tottenham job, but owner Daniel Levy was not convinced of him. As for Potter, there were reports that he was the favourite to replace Christophe Galtier at Nice.
Despite the hype around both Rodgers and Potter, Jones has stated that the chances of either man joining Tottenham look slim. Jones said, “Everything I have heard makes me think both would take a lot of negotiating and persuading.”
With no clear indication as to who will take over at Tottenham, fans will undoubtedly be hoping that the situation is resolved quickly.
