After leaving Coritiba, Jesé Rodríguez is considering a return to Spanish football. The Brazilian team terminated his contract, and now he is exploring options to play in La Liga once again. Several teams have shown interest, but the most advanced option seems to be a reunion with Las Palmas. The team is looking to negotiate his signing to boost their firepower for the second half of the championship.
During his two-month stint in the Brasileirao, Jesé only played six games and scored one goal. Coritiba SAF announced his departure, stating that it aligns with their planning for the 2024 season. If he joins Las Palmas, it would be his third time playing for the team. Jesé previously played 73 games for Las Palmas, first on loan from PSG in 2017, and later as a free agent for two seasons before leaving for Turkey to play for Ankaragücü. During his time with Las Palmas, he scored 16 goals and provided nine assists.
Despite previously stating that he was not thinking about returning to Las Palmas, Jesé’s plans seem to have changed. Las Palmas is currently eighth in the table and is competing to become the revelation of the season with the new model implemented by García Pimienta. Jesé had previously expressed disagreement with the coach’s decisions before leaving for Turkey.
Jesé Rodríguez had aimed to become one of the best players in the world in his position, but his career has been marred by injuries and inconsistent performances. Since leaving Real Madrid, he has played for ten different teams, including PSG, Stoke City, Betis, Sporting Portugal, and Sampdoria. Now, he is hoping for a fresh start at Las Palmas, but negotiations with the team are still ongoing.
It remains to be seen whether Jesé will be able to fit into the dynamics of a group that is already exceptionally armed. Las Palmas will need to finalize the negotiation with the player and ensure that he can contribute effectively to the team. Only time will tell if Jesé can revive his career at his former club.
