Injured in horrific accident, 2-time Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner talks of love and hope
Actor Jeremy Renner, known for playing Hawkeye in the Marvel Universe movies, suffered more than 30 broken bones when a snowplow rolled onto him while he was trying to stop it at his Nevada home on New Year’s Day. After two weeks of treatment in hospital he took to Instagram to thank his followers for their messages of support, and express his hope that he would mend with the help of his family and friends.
Posting a photo of himself lying in bed with heavily bruised face, Renner described how his morning workouts and resolutions had changed after the accident. He wrote of his gratitude to his loved ones and how they had turned their attention to the love that bound them together.
Authorities later said there were no indications of drug or alcohol involvement in the accident. It is speculated that the actor used a PistenBully, or snowcat, a truck-sized track-drawn vehicle used for snow removal.
The 52-year-old Renner has been nominated for two Oscars for his roles in “The Hurt Locker” (“Living on the edge” or “In hostile land”) and “The Town” (“City of thieves” or “Dangerous attraction”). As he focuses on his recovery and being surrounded with love, Jeremy Renner proves that hope is stronger than tragedy.
