On April 15, 2023, in Netanya, Israel, the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, spoke at a pro-reform demonstration. The demonstration was held in opposition to Netanyahu’s coalition judicial overhaul plans. This marked the 15th consecutive week of protests against the controversial proposals, which led to a downgrade in Israel’s economic outlook by Moody’s, from positive to stable.

Several Israeli ministers and 15 Knesset deputies attended a conference in Jerusalem to call for the reestablishment of settler settlements in the Gaza Strip. These settlements were dismantled in 2005 when Israel withdrew from the Palestinian enclave. Minister Itamar Ben Gvir emphasized the importance of completing what the Torah says and encouraged the Prime Minister to take action.

During the conference, Minister Ben Gvir urged for the encouragement of Palestinians to leave the Gaza Strip voluntarily in response to the actions of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). He also recalled warnings from 2005 about the potential increase in terrorist acts following the withdrawal from the territory.

The event was attended by around 5,000 people, including several ministers such as Bezalel Smotrich, Miki Zohar, Haim Katz, Idit Silman, May Golan, Shlomo Karhi, and Amichai Chikli. The ministers discussed various issues related to the reestablishment of settlements and the fight against anti-Semitism.
