Andrew Tate Arrested in Romania amid Charges of Sexual Exploitation and Rape
The Romanian Organized Crime Prosecutor’s Office (DIICOT) announced today seven new raids in the investigation against British-American “influencer” Andrew Tate. Tate has been arrested since December 30 on charges of sexual exploitation and rape.
According to the Romanian publication Hotnews, citing sources of the investigation, the raids targeted Tate’s brother Tristan’s girlfriend and a friend who owns an adult webcam studio. In a statement issued on Thursday, Romanian Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime (DIICOT) reported it is continuing its investigations for alleged crimes of “constitution of an organized criminal group, human trafficking and rape.”
Former world kickboxing champion and international playboy, Tate, 36, has millions of followers online. He has been associated with aggressive and openly sexist masculinity, financial success and rejection of political correctness.
Tate came into the radar of the Romanian authorities in April last year when police searched his mansion near Bucharest. A notice was received from the US embassy about a young woman reportedly held against her will.
Several victims have accused Tate, his brother Tristan and two other alleged accomplices of exploiting young women through their adult webcam business. Tate and his brother are in preventive arrest since December 30 on allegations of sexual exploitation and rape.
One of the alleged victims also accused of being raped twice during her stay in Andrew Tate’s mansion, where a webcam studio and other young women were reportedly held against their will.
