**Instagram Introduces Quiet Mode to Encourage Breaks from the App**
Today, Instagram has announced the launch of ‘Quiet mode’ – a feature in the app where users can mute the notifications and take a break from the app. It is designed to help users focus on what is important outside of the app itself.
The new feature will be available in the Settings>Notification section, where users will see a feature to pause all in-app notifications – including messages, activity status, and content from followed accounts.
Upon activating the feature, a badge will be displayed below the user’s profile, indicating that they are in a “quiet mode”. Users can set a specific time period, like 11 pm to 7 am, in which all the notifications will be paused.
In case someone messages the user during their quiet mode time, they will receive an auto-reply message. Once they are back in their regular activity mode, a single floating notification will appear on their mobile, informing them about the messages they have received.
This new feature is currently available in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with the other countries expected to be able to access it soon.
