Search Underway for Teen Who Went Overboard During Sunset Cruise in the Bahamas
Authorities are currently conducting a search for an 18-year-old boy who went overboard during a sunset cruise in the Bahamas. Cameron Robbins was celebrating his high school graduation when he allegedly jumped from a pleasure vessel on Wednesday night, according to the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
Acting on a Dare
Witnesses claim that Robbins was acting on a dare when he leapt from the vessel. CBS affiliate WAFB-TV also reported on the incident.
The Search Continues
Robbins was last seen splashing in the water just a few feet away from the boat around 9.40 p.m. before disappearing from view. The police, US Coast Guard, and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force are working together to search for Robbins.
Graduate of Baton Rouge High School
Robbins was on the trip with other graduates from Baton Rouge high school. In fact, he had just graduated from University Laboratory School on Sunday. Kevin George, the school’s director, reported that the community was praying for Robbins to be found safely. “In times like these, we must come together and support each other,” he said. “Words fall short of expressing the worry our entire school community is feeling.”
The search for Robbins is ongoing, and authorities are doing everything in their power to locate him. We will continue to follow this story as it develops.
