The game Mutazione portrays a living in harmony with nature, and is driven by conversations to reinforce its narrative. A hundred years ago, the Lunar Dragon meteorite destroyed the great city, so the survivors agreed and founded Mutazione, a town on the outskirts of the city. The story revolves around the spiritual retreat of the grandchild of the town scientist, Nonno, a fifteen-year-old city girl named Kai.

In her journey, she learns the different stories of people of the town and their problems. The exploration of the mysterious town is a slow-paced graphic adventure which still uses traditional gameplay structure, but its mechanics focus on conversations that build a story discovery.
