The 2023 Formula One season is set to be an exciting one, with a record 23 Grand Prix on the programme and teams having to demonstrate their ability to adapt. Ferrari have made a qualitative leap this year, but the Red Bull RB19 have been the super-powerful single-seaters to beat. Max Verstappen is the favourite for a third consecutive championship title, having won 17 of the 22 races on the calendar in 2022. Mercedes, who ended up third last season, are looking to make up the ground they lost to Red Bull and Ferrari, and have claimed to have freed themselves from the aerodynamic issues that plagued them last year. Lewis Hamilton is looking to win his eighth world title.
Behind the top three teams, other formations are also confident, with Haas now having the experienced Nico Hülkenberg and three rookies joining the list of drivers. Spanish veteran Fernando Alonso is also taking on a new challenge with Aston Martin, having had an encouraging performance in pre-season testing in Bahrain. With all the precautions in place, and with the performance of drivers like Charles Leclerc, this season is sure to be an exciting one.
