Mutazione: a reflective game set in a sleepy town

Mutazione is a game developed by Die Gute Fabrik which invites the players to a spiritual retreat to the fictional town of Mutazione. In this slow paced interactive and graphic adventure, the players must explore the town, get to know its people, their problems and concerns, while uncovering the mysteries of the city.

Player take on the role of Kai, the 15 year old granddaughter of Nonno, a Mutazione scientist who’s struggling to stay alive. Kai, a city girl, must adapt to the slow paced, nature focused life of the town and confront her own demons.

The game does not modify or innovate the archetypes of the genre. Instead its innovation comes from the use of conversations and dialogues as a tool to deliver its story. The aesthetic is pleasing and it takes about 5 to 6 hours to explore the game.

Mutazione is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and Nintendo Switch. It was given away free on the Epic Games Store two years ago.
