Emilia Clarke Confirms What We Suspected About Jason Momoa’s ‘Game of Thrones’ Character
Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa, Game of Thrones Co-Stars, Open Up About Their Relationship On and Off Set
Emilia Clarke, who starred as Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s Game of Thrones recently opened up in an interview with BBC’s Sunday Morning Programme about her past relationship with Jason Momoa, who played Khal Drogo in the iconic fantasy series.
Following her revival from a type of cerebrovascular accident that left her hospitalized, Emilia reveals how she had to record intimate scenes with Jason Momoa in the first season of Game of Thrones. She candidly expresses how being ‘barely clothed’ with a complete stranger in front of an entire production team was ‘intimidating’ and a difficult experience.
Thankfully, just like her character, Emilia was able to make it through and move beyond this stand-offish start to their relationship. During the filming of the series, she and Jason Momoa ended up being strong friends. Emilia clarifies that contrary to her experience, it was Jason Momoa that shed more tears than her due to the awkward situation on set.
Now, several seasons later and after the Game of Thrones series ended, she still counts this as a brilliant experience. Little did she know that these difficult moments on set would lead her to create such a deep friendship.
