Electronic Arts puts a stop to its mobile games
Electronic Arts has announced the closure of Apex Legends Mobile and the cancellation of Battlefield Mobile. Respawn Entertainment and EA have declared on their official channels that Apex Legends Mobile will be shut down on May 1, 2023 due to the game not meeting their player goals and expectations.
No real money will be refunded to players who have spent money on the mobile version as stated in EA’s User Agreement. Meanwhile, the desktop version of Apex Legends remains unchanged.
Likewise, EA has confirmed that the development of Battlefield Mobile has been stopped as the company shifts to better meet the vision they have for the Battlefield franchise.
Players are disappointed but are still grateful for the services they were provided. These two moves may prove that mobile games is not one of Electronic Arts’ priorities.
