Despite being 16 years younger than Tina, they lived a happy life together in Switzerland after the singer split from her first husband Ike Turner.

Her first son Raymond Craig was born when she was just 18 years old with Kings of Rhythm saxophonist Raymond Hill. Her second son Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Renelle was born in 1960, and his father is Tina’s first husband Ike Turner. She also adopted Ike’s two sons, Ike Turner Jr. and Michael Turner.

Tina Turner and Erwin Bach met in 1985 at Düsseldorf airport in Germany, when he was sent by the record label he worked for, EMI, to greet the singer. It was love at first sight for them, as Tina wrote in her book, “The day I first met Erwin, at an airport in Germany, I should have been too tired from my flight, too preoccupied with thoughts of my concert tour. I listened to my heart. I left my comfort zone and made it a priority to get to know Erwin. That simple first meeting led to a long, beautiful relationship – and my one true marriage.”
They dated for 27 years before tying the knot in a civil ceremony at their Switzerland estate in 2013, in front of 120 star-studded guests. Three years after getting married, the What’s Love Got to Do With It singer was diagnosed with intestinal cancer, which led to total kidney failure. Proving just how much he loved his wife, Erwin donated his kidney to Tina to save her. The successful operation took place in April 2017.
