Khloé Kardashian on Struggling to Connect with her Newborn Son via Surrogacy
Khloé Kardashian recently opened up about the challenges she faced while connecting with her newborn son, Tatum. The reality star, who welcomed Tatum with ex Tristan Thompson via surrogacy in July of 2022, admitted that the process was a “mind f–k” for her. She revealed on the Season 3 premiere of Hulu’s “The Kardashians” that she didn’t truly realize she was having a child until she arrived at the hospital.
Kardashian expressed how she felt regarding her experience with one of the surrogates during her confessional. She admitted that she felt guilty as the surrogate had carried her baby, and the whole experience felt transactional as it was not about the baby but about the surrogacy process.
She added that she was in a state of “shock” around the whole experience and wished that more people were honest about what the surrogacy process is like. She clarified that the process is still great but different from giving birth.
While speaking with her sister Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend, Scott Disick, Khloé shared that the process had been challenging for her and it was even harder to connect with her newborn son than her daughter, whom she birthed herself.
Khloé Kardashian’s Tumultuous Relationship with Tristan Thompson
Khloé Kardashian shares 5-year-old daughter True and 9-month-old son Tatum with ex Tristan Thompson. The Good American co-founder had a tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship with the Los Angeles Lakers player.
The pair began dating in 2016, and Thompson cheated on her during her pregnancy with True in 2018. They stayed together but separated in 2019 following news that Thompson had kissed Kylie Jenner’s pal Jordyn Woods.
The couple got back together during the pandemic but split again in 2021 after Instagram model Sydney Chase claimed during an interview that she had hooked up with Thompson.
The on-again, off-again couple got back together toward the end of 2021 and were expecting their second child together in July of 2022 via surrogacy. However, news broke that Thompson had fathered a child with another woman in December of that year, leading to Khloé kicking him to the curb.
Despite their split, the couple co-parent their children and have been spotted together occasionally. However, Kardashian recently slammed speculation that they were back together through a comment on Instagram, calling it “exhausting.”
Conclusion
Surrogacy may have brought Khloé Kardashian her second child, but it didn’t make the bond or connection between them any easier. However, it’s great to see the star opening up and sharing her experiences to make others aware of the challenges she faced in the process.
