The Investigative Court number 3 of Requena, acting as guard, has decided to release the man arrested for allegedly breaking a restraining order he had against his partner, a 49-year-old woman who was found dead at her home in Godelleta (Valencia). The man is being investigated for a crime of breach of sentence after the woman’s autopsy found no evidence of a homicidal cause in her death, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV).

The Government Delegation against Gender Violence, dependent on the Ministry of Equality, is looking into whether there is gender violence involved in the case. The lifeless body of the 49-year-old woman was discovered by the Civil Guard at her home, although there were no signs of violence. The victim’s partner, a man who had violated a restraining order, was arrested. The Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar BernabĂ©, confirmed that the man made a call to ‘112 CV’ to report that the woman “didn’t respond” and “it seemed like something was wrong with her.”

The woman’s body was taken to the Forensic Anatomical Institute of Valencia, and the Ribarroja Judicial Police Territorial Team took charge of the investigation to fully clarify the facts. BernabĂ© stated that after knowing the results of the autopsy, “it will be possible to determine” if it is a case of gender violence. He also emphasized that the man “is detained for violating a restraining order, not for other reasons.”

The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities are working to gather all the necessary information to determine the cause of the woman’s death and whether gender violence was involved. The case has raised concerns about the effectiveness of restraining orders and the need for better protection for victims of domestic violence. It is a tragic reminder of the importance of addressing and preventing gender-based violence in our communities.

The community is mourning the loss of the 49-year-old woman, and there is a call for greater awareness and action to address gender violence. It is crucial for authorities and organizations to work together to provide support and protection for victims of domestic violence. The case serves as a reminder of the need for continued efforts to combat gender-based violence and ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals in our society.
