Colin Farrell to Star in Prequel to Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman 2’ With Robert Pattinson
Hollywood director Matt Reeves has given details of the planned trilogy with Robert Pattinson’s Batman and its prequel, ‘The Penguin’, to be co-starring Colin Farrell. Reeves and Peter Safran, the new CEO of DC Films, are set to announce the first leg of the reconstruction of the Zack Snyder popularised universe.
Yesterday, Reeves also confirmed that he is continuing to work on the script for the sequel to The Batman and that Robert Pattinson would be back in the leading role. He also disclosed that they will soon start filming ‘The Penguin’ featuring Farrell who is already going through the script.
Reeves said that the series would be a ‘small factory of things’ which will lead up to the sequel and thereon, a clash between the dark knight and the Joker (Barry Keoghan). The series, to be aired possibly at the end of this year or early 2025, will have six or eight episodes between them.
This is surely welcome news for DC fans as Farrell has been nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in ‘The Spirits of the Island’ by Martin McDonagh and will bring ‘unusual’ and ‘delicious’ elements to the character of Oswald Cobblepot.
