Belgian football club Club Brugge has announced the sacking of their British coach, Scott Parker. The decision came the day after the team’s 5-1 loss against Benfica that marked their unfortunate elimination in the knockout stages of the Champions League. Parker, who previously coached Fulham and Bournemouth in his home country, was appointed to the team just three months ago. Parker’s dismissal was a result of the disappointing loss at the round of 16 of the C1 tournament, which both games were won by Benfica. Parker replaced Carl Hoefkens at the end of December after a string of poor results. Meanwhile, Club Brugge holds fourth place in the Belgian championship.
