Cereals, an Unhealthy Breakfast Choice

Cereals are one of the most popular breakfast options among people of all ages, but this highly processed food may not be a healthy choice. A new study conducted by DW (Spain) have concluded that cereals are not a good alternative for an energetic morning start.

The study by DW found that most of the cereals have a very high sugar content, which can lead to an unnaturally high level of energy in the initial hours of the morning, followed by a dramatic drop in energy later in the day. This drop or dip in energy can cause a significant energy deficiency and fatigue.

Moreover, DW suggests that cereals also deprive the body of essential vitamins and minerals as many of these substances are lost during the manufacturing process. This can eventually harm the body’s health, particularly in the long run.

While Dw emphasizes that more research needs to be done in this field, this study serves as yet another reminder to start paying more attention to the contents of cereals and other processed foods.

In conclusion, it is important to think twice before picking a cereal for breakfast, as it may not be the healthiest option. Instead, a natural breakfast like oatmeal or porridge can provide your body with the right nutrition.
