Capitals Look to Extend Road Win Streak Against Flyers
The Washington Capitals will be looking to extend their seven-game road win streak when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers Wednesday night. The Capitals come into this game with a 23-14-6 record and are atop the Metropolitan Division standings. The Flyers, on the other hand, are 4-7-4 against the division and are seventh in the standings.
The Capitals have been led offensively by Evgeny Kuznetsov who has thirty assists and six goals this season. Alex Ovechkin has been in a goal-scoring groove of late and he’s been contributing nine goals and four assists in the last 10 games.
Meanwhile, the Flyers have been led by rookie forward Joel Farabee who has nine goals and fourteen assists to his name this season. Travis Konecny has also been a bright spot for the Flyers with nine goals and eight assists in the last 10 games.
This marks the third meeting between these two teams this season and the last time they played, the Capitals escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Flyers in overtime.
Both teams have been dealing with injuries as the Flyers have been without the services of Tanner Laczynski (lower-body), Cam Atkinson (neck), Ryan Ellis (pelvis), and Sean Couturier (back). The Capitals have been without Carl Hagelin (hip), John Carlson (face) and Connor Brown (lower-body).
The Capitals will look to keep their streak alive as they go for their fourth win in the season series against the Flyers.
