Ben Affleck’s Batman won’t be making a huge comeback in The Flash, according to the actor himself. Speaking to THR, Affleck expressed his disappointment at the limited screen time he will have in the upcoming movie. Despite mastering his portrayal of the character, Affleck will apparently only have a brief appearance in The Flash, lasting just five minutes. The actor also confirmed that The Flash will be his last time playing Batman, but fans can still catch him as the caped crusader in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom this December.
The Flash movie is set to be a grand reunion for DC fans, with Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen teaming up with two versions of Batman, played by Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck. Supergirl, played by Sasha Calle, will also make her debut in the upcoming movie. Despite the exciting cast, fans may be disappointed to hear that Affleck’s cameo appearance will be relatively brief.
In the same interview, Affleck revealed that he has no intention of directing a movie in the DC Universe. Despite the wishes of the new CEO of DC Studios, James Gunn, Affleck is happy to stay in front of the camera. Fans will have to wait and see what the future holds for the DC Universe and whether Batman will make a triumphant return to the big screen.
The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 16, 2022, and fans of the DC Universe will no doubt be eager to see their favorite superheroes in action once again. While Affleck’s time as Batman may be coming to an end, fans will always remember him as one of the most iconic iterations of the beloved superhero.
